Get Involved in a DataDive hosted by ONS
What is a DataDive?
A DataDive is a high energy, marathon-style event where charities work alongside teams of volunteer data scientists, developers, and designers to use data to gain insight into their programs, the communities they serve and more.
Our DataDive will be hosted in Newport on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May. Staff from across the civil service are welcome to sign up, as long as you can get yourself to ONS Newport for the weekend!
We need you!
We’re looking for any staff with data science or development experience, such as coding in R or Python, willing to come along and help charities dive into their data.
What’s in it for me?
As well as contributing to improving Data Science capability across the GSS, events like these are a fantastic opportunity to sharpen your analytical skills and bring your wide-ranging expertise to others.
You can also claim the time back as flexi in line with Corporate Social Responsibility policy, and it will count towards your learning and development.
But most importantly, you can have fun with a great team, explore new data sources, and make a real difference to local organisations.
#DataForGood is a movement inspired by DataKind for like-minded people who want to use data science to provide a better understanding of social action and the value of activism.
