You are invited to a seminar exploring regional statistics.

In the morning the Office for National Statistics (ONS) Economic Forum will present the current state of the UK economy and present on statistics at a regional level. This will also include an opportunity to hear about exciting developments with transformation of local area statistics.

In the afternoon, the Economic Statistics Working Group (ESWG) is hosting a seminar focusing on regional statistics. This session gives the opportunity to hear from users of data at a regional level. Chaired by Dev Virdee, the keynote speakers will be Richard Kneller (Nottingham University) on Local Economic Partnerships, Rupert Greenhalgh (Greater Manchester Authority) and Sandy Stewart (Scottish Executive).

This seminar is the latest in a series organised jointly by the Royal Statistical Society (RSS), the Royal Economic Society (RES), the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE), Office for National Statistics (ONS) and the Society of Professional Economists (SPE). It is part of a wider effort to ensure that UK economic statistics keep pace with the changing shape of modern economies and societies, and continue to meet users’ needs.

Delegates are invited to one or both sessions. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
