Course details:

This is an introductory session aimed at statistical producers. It covers:

  • how the Code of Practice for Statistics works in practice
  • the UK statistical system
  • the difference between official, National and experimental statistics, and management information
  • case studies to show how the code has been applied in the past

Learning outcomes:

After attending this course, participants will have gained knowledge of:

  • the UK statistical system
  • the framework for the Code of Practice for Statistics
  • the pillars of Trustworthiness, Quality and Value and relevant principles and practices

This course is being delivered as part of an event where the Best Practice and Impact division will deliver three popular courses on one day:

  • Introduction to the Code of Practice for Statistics (9:30am to 11:00am)
  • Introduction to Reproducible Analytical Pipelines (RAP) (11:30am to 1:00pm)
  • Writing about statistics (2:00pm to 4:00pm)
