The annual symposium for the MSc in Data Analytics for Government (MDataGov)is an opportunity for former, current and prospective MDataGov students to network and to showcase data science research and projects conducted within government. The symposium is organised by students and supported by the Data Science Campus.

Delegates will be able to network with representatives from the three MDataGov providers (University of Southampton, University College London and Oxford Brookes University) and with a team from the Data Science Campus.

Target audience

Government analysts interested in building or improving their data science skills and the MDataGov academic partners.


The symposium will host presentations from students on data science challenges in government that they have applied their new-found skills to. These will highlight the value that data science skills bring.

The symposium will also host a discussion session with senior members of academia, industry and government on challenges and next steps in growing data science skills across government.
