Join the front line of COVID-19 analysis
Want the chance to work on ‘cutting edge’ analysis used to inform government policy on coronavirus (COVID-19)?
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is offering placements for professionals in data, analysis, policy, and project or programme support. The placements offer you experience of working with world leading analysts, supporting the response to the coronavirus pandemic and examining broader health inequalities.
Our new Partnership Development Programme is aimed at providing professionals committed to evidence-based health policy the opportunity to support decision-making through the coronavirus pandemic, and to help the ONS to do so in an increasingly ambitious and radical way.
Opportunities range from four weeks up to 12 months, independently examining some of the most important questions for our society today. We are offering on-the-job coaching and access to stimulating statistical challenges for those who want to take their career to the next level.
Successful applicants will be placed with teams at ONS responsible for work producing weighted and modelled data, official and national statistics, academic publications, blogs and more, depending on their interest and experience.
There are opportunities to suit a broad range of professional backgrounds, such as:
- working with newly linked data sets to support urgent questions related to the pandemic
- analytical projects in response to new or enduring policy questions
- developing new and exciting ways to communicate ONS analysis
If you have strong analytical, communication and people skills, and are interested in any of the above or want to know about something which isn’t listed, then we would love to hear from you.
To apply, or to find out more, send your CV and a covering note to email@example.com explaining what development you would be eager to complete, and how your experience will support you to do this to.
Please note: any security vetting required must be completed before the opportunity will commence.
