This document provides guidance on the role of the lead official in arm’s length bodies, their engagement with the Government Statistical Service, and the role of the Head of Profession in supporting this engagement.
This document was adapted from work done in 2010 by a task and finish group reporting to the Heads of Profession, and has been archived. It has been superseded by an updated role statement at Annex 1 of Roles and responsibilities of Heads of Profession for statistics
