Description:
This is a classroom based session aimed at introducing participants to the methodology applied to small area estimates. It also aims to develop knowledge to know when and how small area estimation methods should be applied.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- understand the concepts and principles of a variety of methods
- be aware of which methods are most commonly used and why
- observe how different methods are applied
- understand which techniques are used in official statistics
- combine and model survey data with other datasets
