If you are an experienced Business Analyst and are looking to develop your career with a Government transformation and technology focus, then this could be the role for you.
The role provides the opportunity to use your skills to help define business requirements at the forefront of exciting changes and developments in data handling and statistics production. As a business analyst, you’ll play a role in delivering an exciting work programme to completely transform the significant portfolio of statistical data products and services produced by the GSS.
The main objective of the role is to support this data transformation journey which will make the data suitable for automation and makes datasets across a dataset family (or range of dataset families) consistent and so suitable for integration or comparison across the GSS.
The position holder will work towards converting the data from its original formats into this standardised form using various techniques including python. The final representation of the data is based on a series of internationally agreed standards, developed and maintained by the World Wide Web Consortium: principally the RDF Data Cube Vocabulary for the statistical dataset and observations mentioned previously, and the Simple Knowledge Organisation System (SKOS) for the classification schemes or codelists.
The post holder will also provide agile product support including acting as the squad scrum master to support the multidisciplinary team in working together and delivering outcomes in accordance to each sprint plan.
