As the Data Science Officer, you will report to the Senior Statistician and oversee our statistical data management operation. You will work to improve how we use and present our statistics to inform our regulatory work and the wider education system.

In this role, you will:

  • manage the processes and schedule to collect data for Qualification Wales
  • communicate with external organisations about statistical and research data
  • manage data exchange templates
  • work with statisticians to ensure that colleagues get high quality data to help them monitor exam series standards
  • lead on information assurance and ensure that colleagues follow data governance principles
  • improve how we use, present and disseminate our data so that stakeholders can access the latest information about the qualifications system
  • help statisticians to produce our statistics, focusing on presentation and accessibility

You will also work towards taking a lead role in producing official statistics. Your colleagues will support you with this.

We plan to continue improving the way we present our statistics to internal and external audiences. As the Data Science Officer, you will help to develop how we do this.

This is a permanent position, but we will consider applications for this role as a secondment opportunity.
