The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) are advertising two roles in housing statistics. Housing is key to everyone’s daily lives, from availability and affordability, to building safety and quality of life. It is one of the Government’s top priorities, and DLUHC play a crucial role in informing policy decisions to deliver the homes the country needs.

One jobholder will lead the analysis and publication of social housing statistics:

  • lead production of a high-profile National Statistics release, including project management and briefing
  • lead the team’s analytical output, exploring new time series opportunities and working with policy colleagues
  • design and create a new quarterly series, including automation
  • review and streamline weighting and imputation methodologies
  • line management of one junior statistician

One jobholder will lead analysis on local authority housing statistics:

  • lead production of analysis and National Statistics on affordable housing, working closely with data collection teams to meet stakeholder requirements and data quality
  • understand and monitor overall trends in affordable housing, and communicate analysis with impact to senior policy officials and ministers
  • drive improvements to data collection and publication, identify and develop linkages with other statistics
  • expand evidence base by developing use of historic or alternative data sources
