Department for International Trade

The Department for International Trade has overall responsibility for developing, coordinating and delivering a new trade and investment policy for the UK, including preparing for and then negotiating Free Trade Agreements and market access deals with non-European Union countries, and promoting UK trade and investment across the world.

Trade and investment are both high profile areas and attract much media, government and parliamentary interest.

The People Analytics and Insights Team sits within the Human Resources (HR) Directorate and is a key expert service for the wider function and Department. We are responsible for reporting and analysing data that we hold about nearly 4000 staff across the world. We work closely with related professions including analysts and digital colleagues.

Our work is varied, ranging from delivering centrally-commissioned regular reports on our workforce, to providing insights based on bespoke analysis on specific topics of interest for internal customers.

As the Senior People Analyst in this team, you will lead the reporting and analysis of people data. Using data from a variety of sources, you will use sophisticated techniques to automate our regular data cleansing, reporting and visualisation processes. You will manage a quality data reporting and analytics service for a range of customers, including senior leaders in the Department, HR Business Partners, the Office for National Statistics and the Cabinet Office. You will strive for continuous improvement, learning from the wider industry and utilising your professional network.
