The successful applicant will lead a growing team of analysts utilising innovative tools and techniques to source and exploit available air safety data, to bring together a coherent risk picture for military aviation. A central player in a team of aviators, air traffic control officers, engineers with specialist input from experts in the field of human factors, aviation medicine and aircraft accident investigations, you will bring a keen understand of the strengths and weakness of statistical methods and appropriate means of presenting the findings. Working closely with MAA staff and external IT service providers you will support the development of state-of-the art analytical capabilities utilising input from live data sources.
The role requires a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications e.g. Excel, Power BI, Power Point and Word with formal training provided to utilise cutting-edge tools and techniques. The post has direct line management for a C2 analyst with the potential to increase this responsibility further. This is a key role within the MAA, a 200 strong joint military/ civilian organisation, with the job holder being the principle statistics subject matter expert. The output of this post provides key information for use at all levels up to and including the Director MAA (military 2*).
