The Department for International Trade has overall responsibility for developing, coordinating and delivering a new trade and investment policy for the UK, including preparing for and then negotiating new Free Trade Agreements and market access deals with non-EU countries, and promoting UK trade and investment across the world.

Trade and investment are both high profile areas and attract much media, Government and Parliamentary interest.

This role will be in the Grade 7 led Trade Statistics Research and Development team which works in partnership with other departments, Office for National Statistics, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development  and World Trade Organisation to push the boundaries of trade stats measurement.

This role will lead projects that are part of a programme of statistical analysis that is at the forefront of international development. This includes better measurement of Trade in Services, Digital Trade, Trade in Value Added, micro-data analysis, and analysis of the underlying reasons for macro trends.
